Nike KD 7 approx 16 miles roundtrip

“Schaghticoke” (ska ti coke) means “the place Nike KD 7 where the river divides” in Mohegan, a Native American language. You are climbing Schaghticoke Mountain and soon will pass through a reservation by the same name. There are only a few Schaghticokes in Connecticut today, but they are politically active. The trail follows numerous switchbacks over the next 2.8 mi. to the top of the mountain at 1300 ft. Though this is a Connecticut hike, the trail crosses the New York state border two times on the way up and on the way down, all on Schaghticoke Mountain. You will have to keep a sharp eye out for the trail signs and markings indicating that you are crossing the border. Social history features: Colonial era covered bridge; Schaghitcoke Indian Reservation.

We hiked North to South with a large group of Scouts. Had a great trip. Saw a timber rattlesnake between Mt. Algo and Indian Rocks be alert for them, we had fortunately heard a report from a Ridgerunner about another sighting, so we were ready for it. The rattle noise is very loud, which is a good thing. We camped at Ten Mile River south of Bull’s Bridge a beautiful campsite, and Jordan Winterized 6 Rings the river felt great after a long days hike. The hike out on Sunday was good Air Jordan 14s a tough uphill over Ten Mile hill then a nice downhill to the finish at Rte. 55. Great big parking area there, by the way.

I am pretty fat and I don’t get much exercise, and this nearly killed me. Holy Crap. I was sweating so much, I looked like I had been caught in a Air Jordan 1s monsoon. I also vomited on my new hiking shoes, which used to be white. Fortunately, the vomit was mostly lemon lime Gatorade (which I will never drink again on a hike), and it left my shoes a pleasant shade of yellow. At one point, I thought I was talking to Air Jordan Women Size my dead grandmother. When I got back to my house, I had intestinal cramping and diarrhea for 2 3 hours. All in all, a really nice hike that I will probably do again.

WE did this trip from NY to CT. Nice ridge views of CT. At first we were very enthusiastic about the hike so we decided to do all 7.7 miles in one day! About half way the trail became very rocky and almost unbearable for our legs. Crossing the river was a great challenge. WE managed to get our right before dark and walked back to our car on ashphalt road (approx 16 miles roundtrip). Saw a moose. We went past the Indian reservation and cemetary (with no gate) they were having a bon fire. Gentleman assured us our car was still were we left it. This was one for our record books!!
